Zoya Matte Velvet Nail Polishes Review

I’ve had the nail polishes I’m going to talk about for some years now. I believe my sister bought them in the States when she got there in 2007. She didn’t use them much and gave them to me in 2009. These are my go-to chic nail polishes. And this is why.

So, the shades I have are Posh (burgundy) and Loredana (grey). You can check more information on the company’s website (click here), but one thing they say about these polishes is:

Buzz worthy matte color basics that are anything but ordinary. This is the Zoya trio that started the matte nail trend. Matte Velvet nail color by Zoya is not intended to be worn with a base coat, top coat or speed dryer of any kind. Due to the unique matte formulation, color is not as long-wearing as traditional nail color.

From what I read online, I believe that Zoya first started the matte velvet collections with three colors. These two that I’m going to talk about, and a black called Dovima.

These are really pretty. They’re matte shimmers and I don’t know, I just feel polished whenever Im wearing them. I do wear the burgundy more often, but I’ve use both colors in the same manicure =) Actually, that’s how I’m wearing them now.

They’re not long lasting. You won’t be having the color on your nail without chipping for long. I usually wear them for special occasions as they normally last only about 24 hours perfectly on my nails.

But they have to be really pretty to be worth it if they won’t last. And this – in my book – are really really worth it!

Oh and yes, I’ve tried using a top coat and they last longer but obviously stop being matte. Maybe with a matte top coat – I believe there are some in the market right now. I just really like these colors!

Have you tried any of these nail polishes by Zoya? Please share your thoughts!

Have a great day!
