I bought this Tinted Moisturizer last September and I didn’t like it at first. I was looking to find a great alternative to having to put foundation and concealer every day, and a tinted moisturizer sounded great. I knew that Vichy was a good brand and this product was part of a sale on one of the online stores I browsed so, I went for it.
It’s the Vichy Lumineuse Sheer Radiance Tinted Moisturizer in the shade 01 Nude (Clair), for normal to combination skin.
Right when I first opened it, I wasn’t happy. The color – the lightest of the three shades available – was really dark and a bit more orange than I wish it was. Still, I tried it to test the coverage and feel, and it was the first and last time I used it by itself. It feels great, has some coverage – more on the “evening out the tone of your skin” side of things – could use it all day without any change to how it looked. BUT I couldn’t leave the house, as I looked like an Oompa Loompa.
The texture is quite thick and in the photo below you can see a bit more of the color. And yes, it’s the lightest one of three shades!
One thing that really amazed me was how rich this moisturizer is. I have allergies, and during allergy season my skin gets really really dry. During that time I can’t wear any foundation, as it would show really grainy on my skin. This Vichy Tinted Moisturizer is the only thing my skin can handle. But how do I handle the color, you may ask? That was easy. After trying it for the first time, I knew I couldn’t use it by itself, so I used a trick my mom showed me: mixed a bit with a regular moisturizer. (My mom does that with her foundation and moisturizer.) It really was a bit of trial and error and I didn’t want to spoil the cream so, I added a bit at a time and tried the color on my face until I came up with my ideal Vichy/Oriflame tinted moisturizer (the cream I used is an Oriflame one):
This works perfectly! Would I have preferred not to have to mix it with another product? Yes. But that’s life. I wasn’t gonna throw away a Vichy product for sure!
This has been my go-to product every morning for about a month now – my skin is not yet ready for any foundations – and I’ve been quite pleased. And I think my skin is getting back on track faster because I’m using this (it’s the only thing I’ve been using).
– if you have normal to combination skin or anything more on the oily side, this may not be the right product for you. It’s really rich and I only use it when I have dry skin.
– the shades aren’t the usual. Light – as the one I got – is not light, at all.
– even if you want to buy it or have bought it already, and the color is not right, you can mix it just like I did, and use it a bit more diluted.
– this cost me about 8£ (about $12 / 9€) and I thought it was a good price for such a brand. Now that I’ll be using just tiny bits at a time, I’m even more pleased, as it will last me a longer time than expected.
And here it is! Have you tried this moisturizer? How did it work for you?
See you tomorrow!
