Don’t worry, I won’t be campaigning. If you’ve been following me on Twitter or Facebook or instagram or even here on past posts, you already know the person I would vote for if I could.
Just wanted to make a quick post reminding all of you out there how amazing it is that we get the chance to choose the person that is ruling and making decisions for us. I don’t take it for granted and I always make sure that I vote in every election that we have and I have voted every time since I was 18.
I’m not American, but if I was, I would be one of those people that are in lines for a couple of hours to be able to cast a vote. Every vote matters. And if you choose not to vote, I strongly believe that you can’t say anything against the winner during the time he’s in office. If you had the chance to vote and didn’t, then you don’t get the chance to say they are wrong and shouldn’t be there. Your vote could have changed that.
The US Election is a really complex event with ballots that would be unimaginable to be used in Portugal – I’ve seen people saying they don’t know how to vote with only 2 options, imagine with 12 pages of options! – and is probably the most important election for the entire world.
Not to be pushy but, please, vote. And choose well.
Have a great Election Day!
(I have and will have CNN on up to the announcement, which can be in the wee hours here…)
