I believe in sharing the love with my family and friends. In this case specifically, sharing a new recipe I found online! Sharing cookies!
You may or may not already know the blog AcupOfMascarpone.com. If you don’t, you should. I was introduced to this blog by a comment on my sister’s Facebook some months ago. Carol, the founder, is a friend of my sister and brother in law and had just posted the most amazing photo of a crumble recipe. In 1 minute I had added her, liked her Facebook page and boomarked her blog.
A few weeks ago, on my sister’s birthday (it all comes back to her eheh), Carol posted yet another mouthwatering recipe. She does this all the time, but some of the recipes just seem to be calling – no! Shouting! – my name!
This recipe was for Chocolate Hazelnut Shortbread cookies and it was made with Nutella.
I’m not a fan of Nutella as a spread, but I usually like Nutella baked goods. The recipe was for around 15 cookies, but as per Carol’s suggestion, I doubled it. My thought was – if they turn our good, I’ll give most of them away as gifts. =) My friends seem to enjoy when I give them baked gifts. =)
My cookies – the first time I made them (yes, I’ve since done another double batch) – weren’t as pretty as Carol’s. But they are freakishly good! Seriously. The combination of Nutella, salt and dark chocolate is perfect.
Here’s a pic of this first batch:
All I needed to do now was bag them and give them to some of my closest friends. But I am a nerd. Nothing is as simple as “just bag them” for me.
So I got the idea of wrapping them in plastic wrap with a cute turquoise bow. But something was missing. So I made a label. ^_^
Now I was happy, they were cute and ready to go!
And it was so simple! And that brings me back to the post title. Sharing the love isn’t something that must take a lot of time, money or even effort. It’s really in the small and simplest things.
So, what are your ideas of giving back and sharing the love? Keep me posted and leave a comment! Would love to hear from you!
I’ll be sharing this post on some of these blogs!
