Today I bring you something really simple, easy and quick to make: Summer Fruit Salad.
I put this together in about 5 minutes and while I was quite hungry and in need of a good snack.
There is actually no science involved and there is nothing like a healthy, homemade fruit salad.
So, for 4 servings, you’ll need (everything ripe please):
– 3 plums
– 2 kiwis
– 1 banana
– 1 pear
– 2 gala apples (I prefer gala, as they’re sweeter)
– juice of 1 lemon, lime or orange (depending on the sweetness of your fruits and how sweet you like your fruit salads)
(Note: I also had pineapple and cherries but they weren’t as ripe as I wanted them to.)
Cut everything in bite size pieces. Put everything in a pretty bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. Or, if you’re like me and keep your fruits in the fridge, eat immediately. 😛
This is great for a snack or as dessert, as is or with a dollop of greek yogurt or frozen yogurt 😉
Seriously, there’s nothing like homemade. And it’s really easier and quicker than it seems. You just need a little bit of patience. 😉
Just a quick note: using ripe fruit doesn’t mean using soggy soft fruit. It means that you’re using fruit that is just as sweet as it can be before getting too soft to touch. Fruit salad needs to have texture in my opinion. But you’re free to do what you prefer 😉
