Movie Review Fridays! Our Idiot Brother

movie review fridays

Today I’m reviewing a movie that came out back in 2011. I know, in the movie world that is really old but, for some reason, I almost had to make myself watch it. It’s called Our Idiot Brother.

I don’t know why but when I first saw the trailer for this movie, I thought it was way too stupid. So, part of me didn’t want to see it. But the cast really forced me to {even though it took about a couple of years}. Seriously, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer?

And I’m so glad I did! It’s such a funny movie! Made me laugh like crazy! And yes, the story is a bit predictable but the cast makes it a great movie experience.

Would I’ve been unhappy if I had gone to the movies and paid for a full ticket to watch it? Yes. We’re currently only going to the theatre to see movies with special effects or that would be better if seen in a huge screen. Our Idiot Brother is one of those great Sunday afternoon movies to watch at home, with a bucket of homemade popcorn. =)

Keep in mind that this is rated R for sexual content including nudity, and for language throughout. Maybe not something to watch with the kids 😉

Have a wonderful weekend!

I’ll be sharing this review on some of these websites.

Oh good–I will get this in Netflix. I totally agree with you about only going to the theater for movies with special effects. And that is so going to be Gravity!!!

I love this movie! It’s just so much fun. And I love his attitude toward life. He’s just so innocent about so many things. It’s a great movie.
