I still remember as if it was today.

I still remember it as if it was today. I still tear up when I see footage of the day, when I hear the last phone calls of so many, when I think of how many lives were directly changed forever. I still feel my heart getting squeezed and it’s almost like there has to be silence whenever something related to the day shows on the TV or computer. That day changed my life and the way I feel about my safety and future.

I’m not American. I wasn’t in New York, Washington DC or Pennsylvania or even in the US. I’m Portuguese, I was 17 and I still remember it as if it was today.

Today I have on my thoughts all the people and their families affected by this in some way.

We will never forget. I will never forget.
