How to make a Personalized Mother's Day Card

Today I want to share a very simple and easy tutorial for How to make a Personalized Mother’s Day Card, using Canva.

I’m a DIYer at heart, so I tend to try and make most of the gifts/cards/baked goods I give to my loved ones. Call it crazy, I call it love. 😉

One of the things that I love to make is personalized cards! Yes, there are amazingly beautiful cards out there, but taking the time to put something together and create a personalized card, just takes it up a notch. And the person receiving it will love it. For sure!

Lately I’ve been using Canva a lot. Canva is an online photo editor that allows you to create virtually everything from the dozens of templates – or custom sized blank canvas – for free {mostly!}. One of the things I love most about Canva is that it comes with several social media templates, making so you always know the size you need. It is really easy to use, but needs a bit of browsing around, mainly because it has thousands and thousands of items – from logos to photos to illustrations – and the combinations are endless!

This year I used Canva to create my card to my Mom. It was so easy to use that I created the most simple video that one can ask for, and I took quite a risk – there is no voice over or subtitles. And that’s because I believe that it is so easy to use that you can do it just by watching.

Check out the video below and I’m sure you’ll see why I’m right! 😉

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy tutorial on How to make a Personalized Mother’s Day Card using Canva and that I’ve inspired you to take that extra step and make your own card this year. Your Mother will love it!

I love Canva Natalie!! Since I first used it, over a year ago, it’s been my go-to photo editor for all my graphics. 😀 They do have paid content but you can totally go by with the freebies 😉

I know, right? It’s really awesome! And I’m having a lot of fun creating the tutorial series for it! A person can easily get lost inside it with so many options! 😉 Love it! And loved your Silhouette DIY! 😉

I just discovered Canva through a Creative Basics course I am finishing. I absolutely love it! As you said it has so many great free templates. And as a new blogger I don’t always know the sizes best for social media and it saves me the headache of searching endlessly for the information.

In the past week I have been able to create some really great projects. Thanks for sharing this super easy tutorial.

I can’t wait for the mom’s in my life to get my homemade cards.

I haven’t tried Canva, but it looks pretty similar to PicMonkey ! And what a great idea, making such a personal card with photos for mom. Very thoughtful. I may just steal that idea 😉

Great video, I’ve been using PicMonkey but was curious about Canva, you make it look so easy. Would like to know how to capture screen video as well. Thanks

Hi Carrie! Thank you! Canva is really easy, you mainly need to bring your imagination, and the combinations are limitless! 😉 The video capturing software I use – and love! – is Camtasia for Mac. If you want, you can check it out here –> (affiliate link). It’s an investment, but really good. 🙂

I love Canva, but I had no idea you could use it to make ecards! What a terrific idea.. I’m definitely sending my Mom one of these:)
