DIY Lid Organizer

Hi everyone!

Remember that post from last week when I told you about 15 things that I wanted to do at home during Easter Break? Well, I've now done more than half on that list! Woohoooo!

And today I'm here to share one of my proudest projects ever. Yes, I said ever.

I had all my pan lids stored in a shelf and it certainly wasn't the best solution. It was time for a change. This storage solution is something that my boyfriend had at home while growing up so we decided to bring it to our home.

I even made a video in order to better explain the process! But it's really easy.

You'll basically need...

...a storage cabinet mess. CHECK!

{and no, I'm not showing you the inside... just a side view...}

The rest of the items really depend on the size of your cabinet's door, the number of lids it can take, and your preference of material.

EDIT: Seana from The Seana Method reminded me of one caution to have - make sure the cabinet door is thick and robust enough to not only carry the weight of the lids, but to be able to have the bolts not show on the front of the door. Thanks Seana! πŸ˜‰ (see, that's why I love comments! This didn't cross my mind as a caution because I didn't have that problem)

We got orange thin rope and 12 golden eye bolts.

What you want to achieve is a niche big enough so the lids won't touch each other. With that in mind, we measured the size of our larger lid and took it from there.

Our door had enough space for 6 mounts. We measured and then added the eye bolts.

You'll probably need a hammer and pliers to really screw the eye bolts in place. Then all you need is to fasten the rope or string of your choice. In order to secure it we did three different knots on each side. See video below for demo.

And that was it! We now have the perfect and easy access solution to organizing and storing our pan lids. =)

It looks cute, it's really secure - no wobbling at all - and you can customize it to your preference or needs! Ain't it perfect? πŸ˜‰

How about you, what's on your DIY to-do list? I'd love to hear from you and maybe even take some ideas to add to mine! πŸ˜‰

I love it – great solution. I’ve pinned it. Probably the only caution is to make sure your doors are thick enough that you don’t pop a screw out the front of the door. Way to go accomplishing so much on your list!!!

Seana, you’re right! I’m going to add that note to the original post πŸ™‚ It didn’t even cross my mind that some doors may be thinner than mine πŸ˜‰
Thank you!! Have a great week!
