4 Small DIY Projects That Will Make A Big Difference In Your Kitchen

Hi everyone!

I did a lot of small DIY projects around the house last week, so today I'm starting to share how they turned out. Actually, I already shared my first one - my DIY Lid Organizer - last week and you need to check it out!

Today I have 4 small DIY projects that will - for sure! - make a big difference in your kitchen!

1. Grocery List Board

If you're like us and you're doing about two runs to the supermarket each month, grocery lists are your friend. We used to use a notepad in the kitchen but it would get lost quickly; then we got into adding the items to a Wunderlist shared list (if you don't know what this is, I'll probably make a post on it, love it for organizing my life), but we would often forget to use it for that... For the past year or so, we were just writing a list right before leaving to the supermarket and that often makes us forget to buy something.

Cue Pinterest!

I was looking for ways to simplify our kitchen - that's when I got inspired to do my 15 Projects for Easter Break - and on one of the {many} websites I looked at, there was a brief mention to a blackboard grocery list inside a cupboard in a kitchen. There wasn't a photo and the blackboard was one of those glue-on boards. Well, I took all that inspiration, added my black chalk paint that I've had for years, a couple of different tapes and BAM! A Grocery List Board was born.

It was really easy to make. I just taped the size of board I wanted to paint, painted it (2 layers), let it dry, added the striped and glittery tape and that was really it! And the best? You can customize it to the colors you want. It was virtually free for me, as I only used items I already had and took me about 4 hours total - with drying time.

2 (and 3). Under The Sink Storage

For these two projects you will only need a simple over the door towel rack, a plastic magazine holder (we bought the simplest one they had at Staples) and two screws. It's really easy and you can use this extra storage to organize your spray bottles and your plastic wrap, foil, etc.

4. The Measuring Tools Hidden Storage

This is probably one of my favorites. All of my lovely measuring tools were homeless and just laying around, going from drawer to drawer, not having a special place to stay. I saw something like this on Pinterest and adapted it to my needs.

This wasn't totally free though, I had to buy the screw hooks, but they cost me around 2€ - $2.20. I'm happy with that. What I did was lay all the measuring tools on top of the cabinet door as I wanted them to be hung. I marked the places I needed to screw a hook and wrote the size of each tool on the largest part of it (see photos). That way everyone will know which goes where and make the whole storage system easier. =)

As a note, I would tell you that you need to make sure that every one of these projects is viable for the door that you're choosing. I mean, you can't place the hidden measuring tools storage in a cupboard that is so full it won't close after all the items are in place. Also, the doors need to be thick enough for the screw hooks.

That's it! I hope you liked it! There is so much more to come, you have no idea! It was a really productive week and I'm loving the results!

Did you put a DIY project in place this Easter / Spring Break? Let me know, I'd love to check it out!

I really love storing the measuring cups on the door because they are so deep that they often clog up a normal kitchen drawer. Plus, it makes it easier to find the exact cup you want without having to separate them out. I bet you are happy every time you reach for one of these items:)
